At Ovako, we believe that work is more than just a job – it’s an opportunity to be part of something meaningful. We are continously investing in our people, creating opportunities for personal and professional development.
We run a number of training initiatives, developing skills to meet operational needs. There is also a special development program for managers, including lectures training modules and cross-functional management conferences. As a sign that our work yield results, we are proud to be nominated “Swedens most attractive employer” for the second year in a row.
We are actively collaborating with our partners, suppliers, and customers to develop sustainable solutions and advance low carbon footprint steel production.
Over the recent years we have made major investments in efficiency and sustainability. The most significant investements have been:
- Vacuum Tank Degassing (VTD) in Hofors
- Furnace burner upgrade in Imatra, making it possible to use hydrogen gas
- Electrolyzer for fossil-free hydrogen production in Hofors.
We are investing €9 million in SVC light STATCOM® system in Smedjebacken. It is expected to deliver significant savings in energy and electrode consumption while also enhancing the productivity of the electric arc furnace.
